Man, I Hate When That Happens

So I often read on friends blogs about the funny things that their little ones say. I miss all the funny words or phrases that my own messed up on, like Rachel learning the alphabet:

Q, R, S, T, U, V, Double Me, X, Y and Z.

And no matter how many times we corrected her, she kept saying it.

So today when she yelled downstairs, I about knocked myself out laughing...

Mom can we wash my Roxy bag?

What bag?

My pink Roxy one. My ESTROGEN spilled in it.

What (HAHAHA) did you say???

My ESTROGEN! It spilled in my bag. You know that blue stuff for my face!

You mean (HAHAHA) your ASTRINGENT???

I hate when my ESTROGEN spills in my bag. They need to do something about the bottle.

San Mateo Spring Classic

Rachel and I had a fun trip this weekend. We started out Friday night driving down to San Mateo. We went with our friends the Parino's, Sylvia and Brittnie and Ashley Joseph. We stayed in an AWESOME hotel, the Marriot. The rooms were great and very spacious and the beds were so comfortable!!! We all shared a room the first night and then Rachel and I got our own room Saturday.

We played games Saturday morning and into the afternoon. We then headed back to the hotel, where the girls swam and talked in the spa. Our friends the Duro's, Sandi and Erica and the Walton's, Kim and Nikki, and Evalin Fiatoa hung out with us. For dinner we headed to Red Lobster, for some good food and many laughs!!!

So of course, I have a story to tell about this trip...We were leaving the hotel to go to dinner. I was on the phone with my sister, telling her about our games for the day. We walked out to the parking lot and I was on the phone, I got into the Tahoe. I am sitting in there talking on the phone, I am wondering where everyone went. I look around and realize that I am not in Sylvia's car...I am in a different car, sitting in the front seat, just talking away! Lucky for me no one was in this car! So I just start cracking up and kind of screaming and laughing and explaining to Kara what just happened. Of course everyone was wondering where I was. Kim and Sandi drive around the corner wondering what we are all laughing at...so I had to explain all of this to them and it was just funny! OK so it was a Suburban, not even the same color.

One more Tournament to go...

Class of 2012

It seems like only yesterday, when I took Rachel to Kindergarten for the first time. I sat next to her as I was filling out paperwork. She was to draw a picture of herself and write her name. I said, "You draw the picture of yourself today and I will help you write your name when you are done drawing." We had practiced writing her name a lot, but I had never seen her do it on her own. As I was writing down all the important things for her teacher, Mrs. Moreford, I heard , "I'm done!" I turn and look to my left and she had written her name on her own! Tears started streaming down my cheeks...

Today is another milestone...The first day of HIGH SCHOOL. Here is her schedule for the semester:

1. English 9
2. German 1
3. Ag Environmental Science
4. Geometry 9
5. Life Management
6. Geography/World Affairs

School starts at 7:55 and she is done at 3:00. After school for the next few days she has volleyball conditioning. Monday are try-outs. Yeah I am kinda dumb...I forgot to take a picture of her today. That would have looked nice on here next to the Kinder one. I will take one tomorrow...On her first morning of Seminary!

UOP Volleyball Camp

Rachel is at UOP this week. She is at Volleyball Camp with 5 of her friends, yes FIVE-Candice, Kayla, Erica, Ashley and Hillary. She and Candice are rooming together. They are pretty smart girls: They show up with their 2 bags each-one w/ volleyball stuff and one with clothes and other necessities. A couple of their friends showed up with 2 loads of stuff and their carts to load it in on! Love ya Sandy and Dena-you moms rock!! They have all there meals there and sleep in the dorms. I have heard from them every day and then some. They are having a great time and have been learning a lot. Rachel said that the workouts have been tough. This is great timing because they start high school conditioning next week...They will all be ready!

FRESHMAN!!!

Well it is official, we have a Freshman in the family! Today was 8th grade Promotion. We had a nice morning and the ceremony took less than an hour. (Good thing too, due to the fact that the sun was beating down on us!) Let's see who was there...David and I , of course, Nana, and David's dad. We sat with our friends the Bohlmann's and the Duro's. We went to lunch afterward. What a great day!

We have an MVP in the family!

Last night Rachel was awarded the MVP award for her Volleyball team. She has played for Twin Cities Volleyball team for 3 years now. This is something that she has really enjoyed. The first year she played she did not really know anyone on the team. Now she has many of her close friends playing as well. She loves volleyball and is excited to try out for high school VB later this summer. Her position is setter and she does it well.

Congratulations Rachel...You deserve it!
